Best Area to Stay in Waikoloa in a Vacation Rental

There is no single best choice; it depends on your trip. KBM's resort page calls Fairway Villas Waikoloa the only community in Waikoloa Beach Resort where every condominium offers views of the Beach Golf Course. It is a gated enclave in the heart of the resort with walking access to Kings' Shops, Queens' Marketplace and the Anaehoomalu Bay beach. Amenities listed include a tiled infinity-edge pool, an elevated hot tub, a BBQ and picnic area, a fitness room and elevators in multi-level buildings. Layouts are two-bedroom, two-bath or three-bedroom, three-bath.

KBM's resort page places Halii Kai within Waikoloa Beach Resort along the Beach Golf Course, a gated community with a community tennis court and an Ocean Club. The Ocean Club has a lagoon-style pool with a waterfall, a spa, a keiki (children's) wading pool, a fitness center overlooking the ocean and the Ocean Club Bar and Grill. Homes are two- and three-bedroom villas and townhomes with fully equipped kitchens and in-room washers and dryers.

KBM lists a pool surrounded by tropical gardens and water features, a spa with golf course views, well-maintained tennis courts and open-air spaces suited to yoga or meditation. Units are two- and three-bedroom villas, and KBM also lists a combined five-bedroom option for larger groups.

For families, Halii Kai offers a children's wading pool at its Ocean Club and Fairway Villas Waikoloa has an infinity-edge pool with a BBQ area. For a larger group, KBM lists a combined five-bedroom option at Waikoloa Colony Villas and a four-bedroom estate at Kolea Kai. For couples, the two-bedroom layouts at Fairway Villas Waikoloa and Halii Kai give a resort setting with golf-course views.
