Question 1

Do vacation rentals with pools have private or shared pools?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the property. KBM's pool vacation rentals include both private pools exclusive to your unit and shared resort pools that are part of a condominium community. Private pools are typically found at standalone homes and villas, while resort condominiums at properties like Honua Kai and Wailea Beach Villas feature large shared resort pools with multiple pool areas, whirlpool spas, and poolside bars. Many guests actually prefer a resort pool for its scale, amenities, and social atmosphere. Each listing on KBM's website clearly specifies private versus shared pool access. If privacy is your priority, filter for private pool or contact KBM concierge — they can identify which specific units have exclusive pool access on your desired dates.

Question 2

Are vacation rental pools heated year-round?

Accepted Answer

Yes — pool vacation rentals at KBM properties in Hawaii have heated pools maintained at comfortable swimming temperatures year-round, typically between 82 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Hawaii's tropical climate means pools are also naturally warmed by the sun, so heated pools in summer are often closer to 87 degrees. KBM Park City properties with outdoor pools and hot tubs are heated through winter, though outdoor pool availability may vary during the coldest months. Hot tubs at KBM properties are heated and available year-round at all destinations. Pool hours at resort properties are typically 7am to 9pm. Private pools at standalone homes are temperature-controlled and available to guests at all hours.

Question 3

Can I bring children to the pool at a KBM vacation rental?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — pools at KBM vacation rentals welcome guests of all ages, and many are specifically designed with families in mind. Resort pool complexes at Honua Kai, the Fairmont Orchid, and Ko Olina feature shallow wading areas, water features, and zero-entry sections perfect for young children alongside adult lap lanes and deeper areas. Lifeguards are present during posted hours at resort pools. Private pools at standalone homes typically do not have lifeguards, so parental supervision is expected. Most resort pool areas prohibit flotation devices other than swim vests for young children. KBM concierge can advise which pool properties have the best family amenities and shallow water sections for young guests.

Question 4

Which KBM destinations have the most pool vacation rental options?

Accepted Answer

Maui has the largest selection of pool vacation rentals in the KBM portfolio, particularly at Honua Kai in Kaanapali — a 38-acre oceanfront resort with one of West Maui's most impressive pool complexes featuring multiple pools, a lazy river, and whirlpool spas. The Kohala Coast of the Big Island also features exceptional resort pools at the Mauna Lani, Fairmont Orchid, and Waikoloa Beach Resort with themed water environments. Oahu's Ko Olina offers both the resort pool and the famous man-made lagoons for swimming. Park City has pool properties year-round, with heated pools especially popular in winter. San Diego's pool vacation rental homes are predominantly private residential pools. Search by destination and apply the pool filter to browse all available dates and unit sizes.
