According to KBM's resort pages, Wailea Beach Villas graces the shores of Wailea Beach; Polo Beach Club is positioned directly on Polo Beach and describes 71 villas in an 8-story building; Wailea Elua Village is the only resort fronting Ulua Beach, with calm water and snorkeling steps away; and Wailea Ekahi Village sits directly on Keawakapu Beach on 34 acres of gardens. KBM's page for Grand Champions says it is directly across the street from shopping, wraps around the Wailea Blue golf course, is adjacent to the Wailea Tennis Club and is within walking distance of several restaurants. The Palms at Wailea sits on a hillside within the Wailea Resort Community, a few minutes from the beach, with 15 acres of gardens and a saltwater pool and hot tub. Polo Beach Club describes walking distance to shopping and dining along the Wailea coastal walk.

Wailea is the quieter, more upscale choice of the three, and KBM's Wailea page says it has a notably drier, sunnier climate than West Maui. For space and quiet, KBM's page for Wailea Elua Village describes a low-rise gated community of 152 residences that trades crowds and high-rise towers for serenity, and The Palms at Wailea offers walk-up condos set in 15 acres of gardens.

KBM's neighborhoods guide says Kihei is generally the closest of Kaanapali, Wailea and Kihei to Kahului Airport, with Wailea and Kaanapali both requiring a somewhat longer drive in opposite directions.
