Where to Stay in Park City: Canyons Village, Deer Valley or Old Town

How Park City's three main areas compare for lift access, walkability and group space, with KBM's condo and townhome communities in each.

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Short answer: Where you stay in Park City depends on how you want to reach the lifts and spend evenings. KBM Resorts rents condos and townhomes direct in three areas: Canyons Village near the Cabriolet and gondolas, Deer Valley near Snow Park Lodge and Silver Lake, and Old Town within walking distance of Main Street and the Town Lift.

Park City areas compared

Listed alphabetically, not ranked. Communities within each area are also listed alphabetically, and each description comes from KBM's own resort pages.

Canyons Village

Canyons Village is the larger of Park City's two resort base areas and is now part of Park City Mountain, with its own village, lifts and dining at the base. Choose it to stay at the base of the mountain with townhome space. See all Canyons Village vacation rentals.

  • Hidden Creek: a community of 130 townhomes at the base of the resort, within walking distance of the Canyons Cabriolet.
  • Red Pine: condos and townhomes a quarter mile from Canyons Village, served by the free Canyons Connect Village Service.
  • Timber Wolf Lodge: mountain-style townhomes within walking distance of the Canyons Cabriolet.
  • Vintage on the Strand: 18 townhomes close to the Canyons Gondola.

Deer Valley

Deer Valley is known for groomed runs and a limit on daily lift tickets. KBM's communities run from Lower Deer Valley near Snow Park Lodge to the Silver Lake area and Upper Deer Valley. Choose it for a quieter, ski-focused stay. See all Deer Valley vacation rentals.

  • Black Bear Lodge: 53 condominiums across the street from Silver Lake Village, a short walk from the Silver Lake Lift.
  • Boulder Creek: 28 townhomes in Lower Deer Valley near Snow Park Lodge and a free bus stop.
  • Bristlecone: 20 condominiums in Lower Deer Valley near Snow Park Lodge.
  • In The Trees: 15 townhomes in Lower Deer Valley, a few steps from the free bus stop to the Snow Park Lodge lifts.
  • Ridgepoint: 38 townhome-style condos in the Silver Lake area with a ski-out trail toward Snow Park Lodge; KBM notes it is not a true ski-in/ski-out property.
  • The Mason: across from the Deer Crest Gondola on Jordanelle Reservoir.
  • The Lookout: 35 townhomes and private homes in Upper Deer Valley.

Old Town and Main Street

Old Town is Park City's historic Main Street district: 19th-century mining-era buildings now filled with restaurants, galleries and shops, within walking distance of the Town Lift. Choose it to walk to dinner. See all Old Town vacation rentals.

  • Chatham Crossing: townhomes with private decks, four blocks from the free city-wide shuttle.
  • Lift Lodge: at the Town Lift Plaza on Main Street, with access to Park City Mountain through the City Lift.
  • Town Pointe: a 41-unit condominium complex within walking distance of historic Main Street.

How to choose

  • Ski access first: check each community's own description for the nearest lift and whether you can ski back to the door.
  • No vehicle: pick a community on a free bus or shuttle route.
  • Evenings on Main Street: stay in Old Town.
  • Room for a group: filter by bedrooms on the Park City vacation rentals page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book Park City condos direct from the property manager?

Yes. KBM Resorts manages and rents its Park City condos and townhomes itself. Book on kbmresorts.com or call (435) 216-3600; direct bookings carry no booking-site fees and free 24-hour cancellation. The Park City ski condos direct from the property manager FAQ lists each community with its lift access.

Which Park City area is closest to the lifts?

It depends on the community, not only the area. KBM's descriptions place Lift Lodge at the Town Lift Plaza with access to Park City Mountain through the City Lift, Black Bear Lodge a short walk from the Silver Lake Lift, and Hidden Creek and Timber Wolf Lodge within walking distance of the Canyons Cabriolet. See the ski-in/ski-out page for the units KBM flags for ski access.

Are KBM's Park City rentals true ski-in/ski-out?

Some are next to a lift and some are ski-near. KBM states plainly when a community is not true ski-in/ski-out: Ridgepoint, for example, has a ski-out trail toward Snow Park Lodge but is not a true ski-in/ski-out property. The Deer Valley ski-in/ski-out guide explains what to ask.

Do I need a vehicle in Park City?

Not always. Several KBM communities are near a free Park City bus stop, including Boulder Creek, Bristlecone and In The Trees in Lower Deer Valley, and Chatham Crossing is four blocks from the free city-wide shuttle. Red Pine guests can use the free Canyons Connect Village Service.

Which area suits a group or a family?

Each area has larger units. Hidden Creek, Red Pine and Vintage on the Strand at Canyons Village, Boulder Creek and In The Trees in Lower Deer Valley, and The Lookout in Upper Deer Valley all offer townhomes; KBM's Park City listings run from one-bedroom condos to multi-bedroom homes. Browse Park City rentals with 4 or more bedrooms.

Which area suits walking to restaurants and shops?

Old Town. Lift Lodge sits on Main Street at the Town Lift Plaza, and Town Pointe is within walking distance of historic Main Street and its shops, restaurants and night life.
